Chordly is a free, open-source online chord sheet creator. It helps musicians write, organise, and share chord sheets without the hassle of clunky software or scattered notes. It is a hobby project created by Stuart Frost which was launched in the Autumn of 2022. What began as a small side project quickly grew into a tool that musicians, teachers, and performers around the world now use to prepare for gigs, lessons, and practice sessions.
"I created Chordly purely to solve my own problem of quickly transposing chord sheets. The fact that other people find it useful is just a bonus!"
- Stuart, Creator of ChordlyChordly is open-source because great software becomes even better when a community can shape it. Transparency, collaboration, and shared learning are at the heart of open-source projects. If you're curious about why open-source matters, you can read Google's article on open source software and why it's important.
Creating good software takes time, effort, and ongoing costs for hosting and maintenance. If Chordly has been useful to you and you'd like to support its future, please consider making a donation. Every contribution helps keep theproject alive and evolving.
If you're a developer and want to get involved, contributions are always welcome. Check out the Chordly GitHub repository for instructions on how to get started, submit improvements, or suggest new features.
